Happy Festivus and Winter Break
Yes, today is officially "Festivus". The daughter has finally picked up on the festivus thing and thinks it is too cool. I haven't filled her in yet on the feats of strength yet, but depending on her mood she may be up for it!
Yesterday was the last day for the day job until January 2nd! YAHOO! Working with children has it's pros and cons, more of the pros. That is until you are approaching a major holiday. Children who were normally cooperative, and polite woke up with Christmas brain. This left no room for manners. I did a lot of deep breathing, smiling, knowing that the day would end at some point. I don't blame them, it is what they do, but I am glad to have it behind me. I do look forward to all their stories when school is back in session though.
The wee hours this morning have seen me clean the studio (or at least start). Gathering up sketches and working out the math for possible new bags designs. But the big job today is to finish up the small amount of Christmas shopping left to do. Actually for the hubby. Oh things have been purchased (the expected and much needed), but the other day he mentioned something about his crappy guitar strap (HINT). Well if it wasn't I am taking it as one. Thumb picks, guitar strap, asparagus, and a few groceries are on the list. The plan is to stay home tomorrow with the exception of a midnight service.
Here is to staying dry this Christmas (at least in the Carolina's), while family in Arizona bask in the mild weather, to family in Colorado that have finally unburied themselves, and family in Pennsylvania waiting to see what will happen in their neck of the woods. HAPPY FESTIVUS!
