Christmas Cards?

I do this every year. Packages have already been received at their out of state destinations, all the gifts for local consumption have been purchased, made, and wrapped. I am still sitting here with a pile of Christmas cards that have not been completed. I even have stamps (okay so the post office was out of Christmas ones and I have vegetable stamps, but they still work).

I want to start a new tradition, to relieve my holiday stress (no help here from other family members, go figure). I want to send cards for New Years instead of Christmas. Oh I still wish and pray that everyone I know and love has the best holiday ever, and with someone they love, but if you think about it, my card like so many others is bound to get lost inthe shuffle of holiday chaos. Why not stand out, maybe even have something profound to say in the card (because after Christmas my mind will once again function as it should).

I know that I have a stack of Christmas cards that I have yet to even read. Oh don't worry they have all been opened by our in-house cookie baker.

So to all my family and friends, if you get a card before Christmas consider yourself one of the few fortunate ones. To all the rest, check your mail boxes for New Years greetings.

Here in France we send New Years cards not Christmas cards. So just tell people you're doing it à la française...
